Rain, Raising and a Rogue Fox: Our 2026 Charity Golf Day
April 30 2026
On 17th April, our suppliers, partners and friends gathered at Edgbaston Golf Club for our charity golf day. Everyone braved the elements to support a great cause incredibly close to our hearts. This day was the final fundraising push for our Director, Mick, who has now successfully completed the London Marathon 2026 in aid of Guide Dogs UK.
The day started bright and early with guests arriving around 12pm to enjoy bacon cobs, tea and coffee. After a couple of hours of mingling, everyone headed to the putting green to find their touch before the first tee. The morning had been sunny but as the golf started the heavens began to open. This didn't dampen the mood as spirits remained high while each team made their way to the starting blocks.
At 2pm, the shotgun sounded and the field set off. The competition was tough with prizes available for the 4-ball better ball Stableford format, the best two scores on all par 3s and the longest drive. While the players were busy on the fairways, the Swadlincote Windows team patrolled the course in golf buggies. They were out in full force selling raffle tickets, handing out refreshments and keeping morale high. Nature even joined the gallery with geese and a fox strolling across the course despite the rain.
After several hours of hard work, all teams returned to the clubhouse to dry off. A beautiful 2-course dinner was served alongside a performance from a fabulous singer. Competition prizes were handed and then the auction began. Some of the prizes included spa days, 4-balls at exclusive member-only clubs and even VIP tickets to a Manchester United game. The room was buzzing with excitement as the final bids came in and pushed our total higher than we ever imagined.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped us drive home this final fundraising effort. Your support provided the perfect motivation for Mick as he headed to the start line in London.

A Massive Thank You
Over £8,000 was raised for Guide Dogs UK. This record-breaking total would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our suppliers, partners and friends. We also thank the team at Edgbaston Golf Club for being such fantastic hosts.
Huge congratulations to Mick for crossing the finish line in London. The whole Swadlincote Windows team is incredibly proud of your achievement and the money raised for such a brilliant cause.
